Blood, rivers, and cookies. Posted at 8:56 AM 0 comments (+)
I just realized how misleading the title is. But no matter, it is what it is.

So this has been a pretty busy week for me. Apart from training, I acompanied my best friend to NUH. No, it's nothing serious. There were just some problems with her hormones. And, maybe it's because I haven't been to a hospital for a long time, but hospitals don't look the way I expect them too anymore. I was expected plain gray walls and ugly corridors like the ones you see in Channel 8's 9pm dramas. But no, I thought I walked into a 5-star hotel.

It turns out that Reichin had to draw blood for tests. And it's no secret that I'm not good with needles. My hands were literally shaking while I was trying to get a few good shots.
Hallelujah to anti-movement.

 So here's the disgusting part:

Look at this girl - so proud of her tube of blood.

And over the weekend, I had lunch with my grandparents at Clarke Quay. Ate at my favorite Bak Kut Teh stall of all time. Then we went to the riverside to look at the scenery.
I know right? Tourist-much.

After a while, we got bored just looking at the river. So my grand dad and sister decided to get some dessert.

After that lovely afternoon with my family, I met up with Reichin to get some Chinese New Year clothes. And had dinner at one of our favorite places to nom.

Now that the summary of my week is done, I'm going to talk a little about today.

Yes, I baked. Oatmeal cookies!

The first batch, however, got a little charred..

But ones after turned out pretty good, don't you think? ;) It's like the commercial golden-brown.

And, I painted my nails again.. I swear I should stop.
These nails were inspired by @noemihk on instagram. Her nails are awesome.

Night Sky Posted at 9:17 AM 0 comments (+)

So over the weekend, I stared at my nails in disgust. Why? Because most of my galaxy nails got chipped during training. So since I had the spare time, I decided to do gradient nails. And because my nails were growing out and morphed, decided it was once again time to cut it. It's so short now, it makes my fingers look tubby. But whatever.

And here's how I did it:
(Pardon me for not wanting to post a picture of my clean unpainted nails. They were slightly stained with the previous colors. My pride wouldn't let me put it up.)

I used a total of 5 different polishes.
The 3 blues on the left didn't have names. But the lightest shade and the darkest shade of polish is from Konad. While the centre polish is some random cheap polish that I had bought donkey years ago.
The glitter polish on the far right is Techno by China Glaze. (My newest buy so far.) And the polish next to it is once again another unknown polish. It basically has tiny glitters in it.
So what I did first was I cut up a make up sponge into a shape that is not too big, but yet big enough to be able to cover my thumb. Do not use sponges that are too expensive, because the outcome of the nails is the same regardless.
So once I had the sponge, I painted a generous layer of 3 tones of nail polish on the sponge. (As shown in the picture). It is okay to mix 3 totally different colors together. You'll still get the gradient you desire.
Next, I just dabbed the sponge into my nail a few times to make sure the color really stuck to the nail.

Note: You may need to go over the same nail more than once to make sure that the there are no empty patches.

So what you get now is messy fingers with awesome 3-toned gradients.
No need to fret. Just pick up a Q-Tip and clean the sides.

So finally, to give that night sky effect, I layered both glitters onto my nails.

I'm sorry that the final picture is still a little messy on the sides. I usually just scrape off the excess polish on my skin using my nails when I take a shower. It is so easy to scrape off when it's wet.

So here's how I did it!

Old book Posted at 7:38 PM 0 comments (+)
Wow, would you look at that.

I'm back to blogging. Decided to start all over again.
Sort of like.. when you decide to write a diary and totally forget about it for months. And instead of just continuing on the next page, you casually tear out the old pages and tell yourself that this time, you'll finish the book.

I hope this time, it will be done.

Before I drafted all the old blog posts, I read through everything and realized how many people I miss. So excuse me while I turn into an emotional old friend and tell people how much I miss them.
